Norton Camp, hill-fort (SO/447819) 1 mile SE of Craven Arms (A49, B4368). - This camp is roughly oval in plan, its NW and SW sides being straight. It encloses 13 acres. A steep hillside protects the NW along which there is a single rampart. Elsewhere there are 2 banks and ditches, becomingtripl at the SW. These earthworks are all massive. There are entrance gaps facing E and SE ; both may be original. The ends of the ramparts defining the former are broadened. The passageway through the earthworks at the other entrance is at an oblique angle to their line. Not dated.
