Iron-Age Hillfort

An ovoid hillfort defended by double ramparts and ditches on all sides apart from the west, where steep slopes required only a single set of defences; the area enclosed was around 31 acres (c.12.5ha). The defences of the fort are nowadays wooded, and the original entrance can be seen on the east. Iron Age pottery has been recovered from the site, but no more accurate dating information is available.
