Breckenbrough Camp

Marching or Temporary Camp

Breckenbrough Camp is situated on a slight hillock about (5km) E of Dere Street. Only the S corner-angle, a short length of the SW side and about 60% of the SE side have been recorded. A 55 feet (17m) wide gap in the SE defences about 425 feet (130m) from the S angle, is very likely a gateway, but any trace of additional external defences are obscured by geological features.
